Animation Apprentice wishes a very Happy New Year to all our students, staff and graduates.  2025 will bring new challenges and also new opportunities - the animation and VFX industries continues to thrive, with the UK Government backing the industry with extensive tax credits. 

This year, at the top of our list of New Year's Resolutions, is to experiment with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, such as  OpenAI and MidJourney.  AI is changing the face of the animation industry in a way that challenges everything we do, but also offering new opportunities for those who embrace change. 

2023 New Year's Resolutions for Animators

Happy New Year to all our students!  The New Year brings new challenges but also opportunities - the animation and VFX industries continues to thrive, with remote working now fully established as an alternative to the traditional in-house commute.

Happy New Year to all our students past, present and future.  The New Year brings new challenges but also opportunities - the animation industry continues to thrive, with studios now offering new jobs working either in-house or remotely. 

The 2D animation industry is experiencing a Renaissance, with new technology, such as Toonboom Harmony, making 2D animation easier to access, and studios such as Blue Zoo and Jellyfish are expanding their 2D capacity.

So, as the industry continues to grow, what should an animator's new year's resolutions be in 2022?

What should an animator's new year's resolutions be? The animation business is growing fast, offering jobs and opportunities to well-trained talent. Whatever happens with Brexit in 2019, it is likely that our industry will continue to expand.

That said, the world of animation and visual effects is a competitive one, and animators need to be smart to stay on top of their game. Animators need to be good, and easy to find and hire.

So, apart from (obviously) going on a post-Christmas diet,  what are the best ways to maintain your edge in 2019?

My inbox is full of requests for skilled animators, so the future is bright for those with the right training.
