2017 VFX Festival Now Taking Bookings 7-9 February 2017

Save the date! The countdown to the Escape Studios 2017 VFX festival is now officially on.

The VFX Festival is coming back for 2017, and just like last year Escape Studios be showcasing the best of VFX, Animation, Games and Motion Graphics in London.

There is no better way to find out about the latest trends in our industry and - of most importance for our students - who is hiring and for what. Last year all the big London VFX houses showed up - and were actively looking for talent.

What is the VFX Festival?
Brought to you by Escape Studios, part of Pearson College London, the 2017 VFX Festival will run in association with arts and cultural hub, Rich Mix in Shoreditch, from 7th - 9th February 2017.

What's on display?
Over two days, the festival will feature three dedicated exhibition hubs, covering Education, Technology and Industry. The schedule includes a series of industry talks and showcases from across the VFX, Animation, Games and Motion Graphics.

Where is it?
Rich Mix in Shoreditch, 35 - 47 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6LA. Nearest overground train station is Shoreditch High St. Nearest Tube is Liverpool St - and then a 12 minute walk.

Who's coming?
Headliners confirmed so far include: Framestore - who will be presenting on a 'top-secret' project, and Motion Graphics superstar, the man behind the graphics on some of the last decade's most impressive visuals, Danny Yount.

For our students, the most important part of the Festival is probably the recruiters, who come from all the big VFX houses hunting for talent. If you'd like to meet in person the people who could help you get a job (and why wouldn't you?) - this is the place to be.

What is the VFX Festival like?
To give you a flavour of what the Festival will be like, below is a panel talk on careers in VFX from the 2015 Festival, featuring a discussion of what it takes to break into the industry.

Where can you book tickets?
At the official site here.  But make sure you book early. Last year's festival sold out fast, as did the year before. And the one before that.
